Hey guys. I just recently sold my iPhone in an eBay auction and still had a few things I wanted to back up before I sold it. Well I did that and transferred it to my new 3G S but now I tried to restore it to the original factory settings but it says I have to install 3.0. I obviously want to jailbreak/unlock this phone which it already is. What could I do to delete all the data from the phone? Is it still viable through iTunes? I don't mind needing to jailbreak/unlock again since I expected that already. Thanks guys!

first, go into Settings>General>Reset and select erase all content and settings. This will secure wipe your phone so no one can access the data. You would then download a 2.2 ispw. Plug the phone into the computer, and this (shift) restore on windows or (option) restore on mac. Then select the downloaded ispw. This will restore to an old version. You will then need to jailbreak again
