cant download files?

I've tried to download Jdownloader, speedownloader and winrar today, but every time i've tried to download them a blank page pops up and nothing happens. anyone know whats wrong?

What OS are your running? Is it up to date? What browser are you using?

I have a mac osx version 10.5.7 that i got a couple of months ago and all my software is up to date. I used both safari and firefox to try to download these programs. Everytime I try to download files i either get a blank page or it loads for a second and than nothing happens. I have no idea whats wrong.
