Can't download ipsw file it downloads it as zip

Ok I have windows Vista and I can't download ipsw files because it saves it as a zip file. I go to the same exact site from my girlfriends computer which also has vista and hers is fine it downloads it as an ipsw extension. Any idea?

Use Firefox

Or, just save it as a zip, then rename it to .ipsw ..... Problem solved.

You first have to unhide file extensions in orderto change the name. If you don't all you end up getting is filename.ipsw.zip. I also use jzip

you using winzip?

i had issues with winzip automatically opening this...

i had to go into winzip setting and remove the checkmark off the extention, then i redownloaded it and that corrected the problem.

Jeez, in the time he'd take to all this stuff you guys are saying, he'd have Firefox downloaded and the .ipsw file on his computer. At least provide the link to the thread.
