I have an iPad 10.5 and an iPad Mini that can only be updated to iOS 12.5.7. The problem is the version of Disney+ that is installed needs to be updated. When I hit update it takes me to the app store. I choose update again and get a prompt asking if I want to download an older version of the app. I choose download and nothing happens. The prompt just comes back and no matter how many times I hit download the prompt just keeps coming back. Is there a way I can use the app without getting a new iPad?

There's no other way except to buy a iPad with a current iPadOS that meets the Disney+ app requirement in order to download it.

Have you tried uninstalling then reinstalling the app? That's happened to me on Netflix but uninstall/reinstall worked fine.

Note, I'm pretty sure you can still update the 10.5 to iPadOS 16.

Thank you so much. The uninstall/reinstall worked great. Also now that I think of it the bigger iPad might be the older 9.7.

This happened with me too, and I’ve found out how. You can’t do nothing, you can only buy a new iPad with a current iOS version.

Best I can suggest go to your list of purchased/installed apps and try download from there instead of searching the App Store like you want it for the first time. That’s how I was able to download an older iPad app which was no longer available in the App Store.

PS. This is the iPad section, if you meant Mac, and my suggestion didn’t work, try asking in the Mac section.
