I've tried twice now, and both times It gets to around 5GB before saying "An Error has occurred".

I had to reset my computer because bootcamp messed everything up when i decided to do a fresh install, and now I'm stuck back on Lion, and I just can't upgrade.

Is there a direct download that is not the Mac App Store of the installer file available?

Having the same issue on my MBP. Don't understand. Gets to the end of the download and says "There has been an error" Cannot install.

Anyone know what the problem is? Have tried downloading from the app store about 5 times

Either your connection or Apple's connection (unlikely) is unstable. I could download it and then upload it to Dropbox or something like that and giv eit to you, but this may violate some stuff.

edit
It fails right around 5Gb... I think it has nothing to do with the download and rather your system.
You said you have Lion. AFAIK, You need to install Mavericks first before you install Yosemite.

Thanks man. But no worries, I'll just give it a try again tomorrow and see what's up

Damn, they did take it off the App Store. I found a link on google search but it says that it has been removed. Mavericks is in my purchases list and I can download it from there, but there is no page for it

If it is like this then I doubt you need to upgrade to mavericks first. It was like that with the beta versions but seems like it is not anymore with the release. I don't know then...

During the keynote they said you'd be able to upgrade from as far back as Snow Leopard.

Normally i'd be on Yosemite anyways but like I said, Bootcamp Eff'd everything up.

Yikes. I'll give it a try a few more times and see what happens.

If not, I'm gonna have to find a way to download mavericks

If it is not illegal I can send you a copy of OS X Yosemite and you try download that. This would rule out of it is a downlload or appstore problem./

I've attached the two errors I receive.

In addition, the downloaded file can't be found anywhere on the system.

The one on left, I don't know; the one on right mean the application cannot start. Looks like it fails download and the application ends up corrupted...

I really don't know what you can do

I've got a copy of the GM from a different source, so hopefully I can upgrade to later versions of Yosemite no issue.

I found the fix. Create a new user on your Mac and sign into your Apple ID. Then download it from the App Store on there and it works perfectly. After over an hour on the phone with apple they suggested that and it worked!
