Can't even start up in Recovery Mode

Hey guys, today my Macbook early 2011 (Yosemite) just suddenly shut down by itself. I tried restarting it and I get to the loading bar but it loads to approx 30% and then it seems to just jam up.

I've tried everything. Resetting PRAM, recovery mode, diagnosis mode, safe mode, reset SMC and it's the same thing, loading bar goes to 30% and then it jams up.

Except when I restarted by holding option D and manage to do a hardware test which showed no problems.

Any ideas what's going on?

What SIZE is the DISPLAY in the 2011 MacBook Pro?
Is it 15", or 17", by any chance?
If so, do you know what "RadeonGate" is? (better look that up!)

Mine's a 15" display. Am currently looking up Radeongate. Quite a lot to go through, seems to have a lot of solutions.. would you know what the permanent solution to this is?

Been reading up on radeongate, just to note so notice the symptoms are usually glitchy screens, however in my case the screen just freezes when the loading bar reaches around 30%.

The Macbook still runs, if I leave it awhile the fan gets louder.

The "permanent solution" is to get a new MacBook.

They're not worth paying to "fix" any more.

It's possible to completely DISABLE the discrete GPU and run it with only integrated graphics. There are threads here on how to do that.

Hahaaaa... yes I gathered that from all the threads I've been reading.

I think I'll be doing that as a fix for now, thanks for all the input! It helped.
