I have an early 2009 MacBook with a 240GB SSD. I dual boot Snow Leopard and El Capitan, Snow Leopard is my main OS and El Capitan I use just to play around with. I only gave El Capitan a 20GB partition though and it has quickly filled up. I've tried shrinking my Snow Leopard partition to expand my 10.11 but 10.6 said it needed a newer OS to do so. So I booted into 10.11 and I cannot figure out how to resize hard drive partitions in the new disk utility app. It really looks like a step back. Can I get some help to resize my partitions?

Turns out I downloaded the Dev Preview 3 update but forgot to install it and resizing partitions was re added in Dev 2. So, eh.. *Solved*

10.11 is up to Developer Preview 7 now (build 15A263e) so make sure you're fully updated.

Oh man, I'm really out of the loop. I just started my last year of high school so I'm not keeping in touch with these things as often anymore. Thanks for letting me know

Just run App Store and keep checking for updates until it says there aren't any more. There's no need to download updates separately and try and keep track.
