i paired my remote and my kids lost it but i have another remote,i can not get it to work just flashed amber can we reset. unplugging does not work any suggetions

cant get apple remote to work

did you ever figure it out? i can't seem to get mine to pair with either my iMac, or my MacBook Pro.
Taken from Apple's FAQ.
"If you lose the Apple Remote that you paired with Apple TV, a replacement remote will not work until you unpair Apple TV from the lost remote. You can use any Apple Remote to unpair Apple TV from the lost remote by pressing and holding the Menu and Previous/Rewind buttons for 6 seconds."
