iPhone cant get my phone to update/restore (after 5.0.1 jailbreak installed)

So recently I have been having issues with my phone and decided to restore/update and rejailbreak. However I can't get past the Itunes sync screen and everytime I try to update it says Iphone can not be restore (error 21)

now my phone is stuck on sync screen and I can't boot it up.

What should I do?

ok, I managed to get it to boot up again using tiny umbrella, but now i'm nervous to try again...should I update via wifi?

Jailbroken phones can't be updated OTA.

You need to put your phone in DFU-mode to upgrade to 5.1.1

For restoring to 5.01 you need to make a custom IPSW with your SHSH+APTicket stitched to it, check iclarified.com for appropriate tutorials.
