iPad Pro Can’t get scrolling on my iPad using magic mouse

I have watched quite a few YouTube videos and see people scrolling in their iPads …. I cannot seem to be able to scroll when using an Apple Magic Mouse on iPad Pro.
I have a 2018 12” iPad Pro and magic mouse 1,
what am I missing? Thanks
