I stupidly sold my 2G shuffle for a 3G one. Had it for a few days, hated the controls, bought another 2G.

However, im having a few problems with it. On my old shuffle I could play songs in alphabetical order by switching to non-random mode. I cant seem to get this to work currently though :(. The playlist im syncing from is ordered alphabetically, ive sorted by name on the shuffle screen itself, cant think what im doing wrong.

Any tips? Ive tried a restore and software is up to date.

Is the switch on top set to play in order and not shuffle?

*Edit: Never mind, I see that you did. I did a bit of research and found the link below...hope it helps.

I've just had exactly the same issue.

It's worked fine for over a year and now it has decided it doesn't want to play in alphabetical Artist order as it always has.

I just restored it and put all the songs back on and it still doesn't play in order (and yes, the switch is in the right place)

I have no idea how to fix it.

EDIT: I'm restoring and syncing again right now, it doesn't even put the songs on in any particular order, just random.

I think I may have fixed the issue!

In the iPod Shuffle contents screen, there is a 'Settings...' button down the bottom right. The box " " was ticked, so I unticked it and I am now getting songs in order!

I'm not sure why it was ticked, as it obviously wasn't before, but see if this box is checked, and uncheck it!

Hope this helps.
