Can't get the console down (QUAKE 3 Arena)

Hellu guys!

I got a serious problem here.

I can't get the console down to write in specific commands etc, i really need this to work as i can't play 1on1 without it (you need to type /ready in there in order to start the game).
Strange enough § doesn't work as it should do otherwise. And i've tried configuring all the .cfg's so that it binds the command to specific buttons, but if for example bind it to let's say a number, then toggling the console back again won't work as it will only type the number.

Anyone got a hint on this problem?

found this thread while google-ing a different problem lol. i suggest you use ioq3. i've been using it for years without any issues.
