iPhone Cant get to iphone 5s raw file system

Through a pc using ifunbox, i cant get into the raw iphone file system.
i want to replace some UI sounds and copy some roms for emulators, but how, since ifunbox doesnt find the folder private or var.

The problem is the same with 32-bit systems (e.g., iPhone5) and iExplorer (the latest 3.2.3.2). It'll surely be soon fixed, though. In the meantime, just upload the file via standard iTunes File sharing to any existing and shared Documents folder and use iFile on the device to move the files to their target directory.

Why would you think you can get to the root file system without having jailbroken?

iFunbox is third party software and sure there are a few things that they can do, but root access is not one of those things.

See my post - it's a well-known problem with the just-released JB and the desktop tools iExplorer and iFunbox. The OP has certainly jailbroken his 5s.

OK. He didn't mention that, but if that's the case then that would make sense.

As an alternative, you can SSH to the file system

install afc2add from modmyi repo and it will work on the 5s.

The first thing I did after seeing my 5s was still "jailed" when using ifunbox, I immediately installed afc2add and rebooted. Ifunbox immediately started working. Great little tool that is usually included in the jailbreak. Not sure why evasion7 does not come bundled with it. Must be a result of the rushed released. I bet they'll fix it in an update. But for now just use afc2add.

Hey Mike. Do you mean afc2add is not needed for iExplorer? Or are you saying afc2add is needed to connect to iExplorer? Correct me if I'm wrong but afc2add should allow you to connect to any USB tool.

Edit: Also, thanks for the other thread regarding the camera hacks for the legacy devices. While I own a 5s, I always love reading your articles so thanks for that.

Yup, earlier in teh thread, I mentioned iExplorer can't see the root either. My post referred to this earlier one, stating iExlorer also starts seeing the root after the afc2add install.

Edit: Also, thanks for the other thread regarding the camera hacks for the legacy devices. While I own a 5s, I always love reading your articles so thanks for that.
