iPhone cant i update jailbroken device via ota?

i have 4s running on 8.1 and recently jail broken few days ago and now my setting icon shows i have an update waiting so i went to setting >general>software update but the checking keeps on rotating and doesnt tell the update availbale ...but their is an update waiting which is shown i tunes ... so how can i update an jailbroken device ? can i click the update button in jailbroken or is there any other method to do update to 8.1.1?

you need to use iTunes to restore phone which will also update to the latest firmware than you need to re-jailbreak 8.1.1 using Taig

cant be done via ota.. Jailbreaking breaks the connection with Apple. Hence no OTA. You have to download 8.1.1 ipsw from internet and then click on Shift + update for windows and choose the file you have downloaded and let the process ends and voila you're on iOS 8.1.1

thanks ,,,but what about the suggestion given by "heisenberg123"" above? i mean to say that i have already 8.1 jailbroken ios so cant i update with itunes so that i can save my time and no need to download a huge file? but any link if possible to do this update? thanks dear

yes you will loose all tweaks and jailbreak when your restore, you can just use iTunes to do the restore, you only have to do what the other poster said if you want an older firmware still being signed, if you want the current apple firmware just use restore in iTunes

Obviously not.
You can never update a JB device OTA or any other way to update ios version and keep the JB and everything else you have on it.
That's JB 101.
You plug it to itunes and restore it. Then JB again and then install all your hacks back and sync your items with itunes.
There is no saving time tricks or cutting corners.
You either follow directions or stay stock instead.

use my first post

plug into iTunes on you computer and click on the device tab, than hit restore

now you will have 8.1.1 no just use Taig to jailbreak and do all the same things you did on 8.1 in cydia to get your tweaks back

it means when i connect my device to itunes then it suggest update to 8.1.1 . i need to hit that update button ? i dont need to donwload ipsw file of 8.1.1 ? thanks

No.
We said restore 100 times.
Not update.
Hit cancel on the Pop up.
Then plug in to iTunes and hit RESTORE.
11 posts later telling you the same thing and you still don't get it?
