I'm trying to use this font and what I'm seeing is that the usual preview of the font in FontBook doesn't show up with the prompt to install the font. I've found many other sites that have this font to see if perhaps the file was somehow corrupt and none of those are working for me either.

I manually copied the .TTF file for the font into all of the font folders on my system and although I can see that the file is there in Finder, FontBook and my programs do not show it.

Any advice?

My Font Book says that your font is seriously damaged. What's so special about this crappy looking font that makes you want to install it despite its problems?

I searched and found an alternative site, downloaded the font and put it in my User/Library/Font folder. It shows up in InDesign CS3 and I was able to convert it to outlines... so it looks like its working.

While I'd love to put a link to the site, MR keeps converting the URL to asterisks. The name of the site is Fonts-the number four-Free. (No dashes)

Fonts***** <-- (See? Why MR doesn't like the number 4 followed by 'Free' is odd.)

The font is kinda ugly though...

Well, I do like the font and I use it with graphic design programs that smooth out the rough edges so it looks pretty.

As I download a number of fonts that I want to incorporate into my designs, I don't want to run into this problem in the future with a font that is critical to the overall look that I'm trying to achieve.

Thanks for the link on the download. It seems to work now.

The problem was that the original link that I downloaded the font from was corrupted, as MisterMe pointed out. Since this corrupt .TTF file was loaded by FontBook, it was disregarding the good copies of the font that I downloaded afterwards. So I deleted all of the references to the font in the various font folders that OS X has and then installed the good copy and it works perfectly.
