Same story as everyone else who gets an old Mac Pro, got it online from some guy, has a login with an unknown password and I can't get into recovery mode.

I did at one point get the keyboard keys to work, but I think now they don't. I've been trying to use El Capitan USB installer, followed the terminal instructions of creating one. I made a Monterey Open Core Patcher Installer, I even got to use the bootcamp installer, none of these worked. In fact, the fans ramp up and sounds like a jet engine when I assume, the installer is trying to be read.

I don't know what I should be doing to just fresh install an os. Can anyone give suggestions?

2006 Mac Pro (MacPro1,1) officially supports up to 10.7 Lion, unofficially you can go up to 10.11 El Capitan - the hardware is not capable of running anything newer.

Download and burn a Snow Leopard or Lion DVD, it's the easiest way to install macOS to a MacPro1,1 or MacPro2,1.

Bw, there are dozens of thread exactly like yours, why open another one?

I tried looking for my specific problem but I hate Apple naming conventions, I don't know what is what. All the naming conventions and the variety of different solutions to everyone's problem, I would prefer a straight to the point answer, which thankfully you had one. I have trouble reading too so if there is too much writing going on I get dizzy.
