can't install bootcamp

after installing the bootcamp assistant, i couldn't repartition the hard drive.


it said "repartitioning failed because verification failed"

and, in disk utility, i tried to fix the problem, and got another error:

First Aid failed Disk Utiility stopped verfying "macintosh HD" because the following error was encountered: the underlyint task reported failure on exit.

i attached some screenshots.

i have a feeling that i'm not installing bootcamp properlly

Boot from the OSX discs and use that version of Disk Utility to repair your drive. Alternatively, run fsck in Single User Mode.

I got the same error. The worst thing is, my OSX DVD is damaged and I couldn't repair the hard drive using Disc Utility. The DVD cannot be read at all. When it is inserted, it goes click-click-click two or three times and then it's ejected. Disc 2 had no problems.

So, I had to call Apple and get bounced around between US and Canada and US and Canada support, on hold for over 45 minutes overall, and finally get to someone who could send me a replacement DVD.

I will try fsck as suggested. Thanks!

Excellent. You don't need the discs for fsck, so give it a go straight away. Good luck.

I followed the instructions and ran fsck twice, to make sure no addition errors are found and then rebooted.

After rebooting, I ran the Boot Camp Assistant again, but it says my drive has more than one partition and it suggested that I should boot from the OSX DVD and do a complete format and re-install so I only have a single partition, and THEN, try Boot Camp again.

This is a three-week old Macbook and the OS was installed by Apple. Is wiping the drive normally required for BootCamp? I Googled and found others have similar problems, but no definite solutions. I guess beta is beta... but would anyone have any other suggestions?
