Can't install ML on Crucial M4 512GB SSD

I am able to download and get to the point where it says it will restart, then a few seconds later, I get a message that says the installation failed and to try again. The installers log only shows: Jul 26 12:58:40 Robs-MacBook-Pro InstallAssistantTool[352]: Couldn't bless the installation disk: /

I did run the trim enabler tool, but otherwise, have really done nothing to tweak the SSD or attempt to do anything else. The install of the SSD was pretty straightforward. I did a fresh install then used migration assistant to transfer the data to the new drive. The MBP is an early 2011 13" 2.3GHz I5 machine. I don't have anything unusual running on this machine.

TRIM is not approved by Apple for non-Apple installed SSDs and that's probably where the error is coming from. Try disabling TRIM (if you can) and then run the installer again. If that doesn't work, you're probably gonna have to reformat the drive and start fresh.

Here is my plan...anyone, please tell me if this won't work or what I need to change or alter.
1. I have backed up (using time machine) the current lion SSD. I have also made a carbon copy of it...both on an external HD.
2. I also copied the ML install file to the same external HD.
3. I will reformat the SSD with HD recovery.
4. I will use the ML install file to install ML OS to the SSD.
5. I will use migration assistant to migrate the remainder of the files to the SSD. Here is where I am a bit confused. In order to do that, I cannot have the external HD attached to the same machine, but will have to have it attached to a different machine and then do the file moves via air drop.

This would give me a clean install of ML and I assume the file migration will work across lion to mountain lion. Does this make sense and does it seem like it will work, or is there perhaps a safer or easier way to do this.

I tried to disable trim, but can't get terminal to work at all, so I'm thinking the best way is to start with the basics and work my way up to file migration.

I think you should make a USB flash drive or some sort of external drive with the ML installer on it and boot up from that to do a clean install. What you're talking about seems like installing ML over Lion and will potentially carry over the (corrupted?) TRIM settings from your previous install.

I too have a Crucial M4 SSD. After doing a clean install, I was able to use the TRIM hack to enable TRIM again. Like the previous poster said, put Mountain Lion onto a USB drive and try installing that way.
