Why won't Apple Watch apps install from this screen on my Apple Watch app on my iPhone?

The progress circle just keeps on going round and round.

Apple Watch Ultra 3, active cellular plan, Bluetooth is enabled.

Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.

I had this issue a while ago and don't know why!

Stop the download in the watch app, go to the app store on your watch, in your case, find the ADP app and install from there. It's a bit of a f##k about but it worked for me.

Had to do that for the few apps I wanted on my watch. If you have a lot of apps it might become a bit annoying.

Someone else may come along and know how to fix it so you don't need to do what I suggested.

Only that particular app or any app?
Have you rebooted both watch and phone?

Did you try rebooting both?
The Apple Watch refuses to be shut down. I get to this screen, but that slider isn't sliding anywhere. I was on the latest watchOS. I'm now updating to 26.2 Beta 2 to see if that will allow me to shut down the watch.

That's now a separate issue, though. With Wi-Fi on (on both devices) and after a reboot of the iPhone, I was able to install apps via the method I was trying.

I really don't see a reason to pay for a watch cellular line right now. I'm forced to used Wi-Fi for something as simple as this.

The cellular line on the watch I suppose could help me one day in case of an extremely bizarre emergency, such as getting kidnapped and they take my iPhone but not my Apple Watch.

so you're pressing both the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time and it doesn't reboot? That is very bizarre ...

I've had cellular watches (the ones with sapphire screen do come with it) for 6 years I think, never had a cellular plan, and you can dial 911 for emergency if needed. If a cellular plan were like $5/month, I'd seriously consider it ...

No. I was finding Shutdown in Settings and that gave me the slider I screenshotted above.

Which was not sliding anywhere.

When I pressed the Digital Crown and the side button as you described, it did reboot. Thank you!

out of curiosity - what model iPhone?
I had an issue today when trying to un-pair my Ultra 2 (I got an AC+ express replacement and needed to un-pair my original in order to ship it back) from my 17PM and after initiating the un-pair in the app on the phone, it was stuck on the screen "unpairing your AW ..." for over an hour. Since only un-pairing disables activation lock, I called support and they asked me to reboot the phone which did the trick. Never have seen that happening ...

If you’re on beta software all bets are off. Report it as a bug on the feedback assistant.

Everything seems to be working now!
