Can't make or recieve calls or messages

Hi guys,
Hopefully there's somebody that has experienced this and would be able to shed some knowledge. This has happened over the last few days and is still ongoing.

My iPhone 5c cannot make, recieve calls, or texts messages.
I have decent signal from my network provider, and also decent wifi signal.
I can connect through 3G and also 4G, so my internet is still working. Therefore I assume I am receiving something???

Text messages tells me that message has failed to send.
Attempts at phone calls goes straight to 3 tones and Call is ended. Not even emergency calls can go through.
Incoming calls goes straight to my voicemail, as if my phone is not turned on.

I have tried restoring network,
Hard resetting,
But not yet a full restore.

Any ideas?

i should make this a macro . and just copy it paste it!

before calling the carrier or making a genius appointment or erasing the iPhone and restoring it , try reseeding the sim card

turn off iPhone
eject sim card
wait a few minutes
turn on iPhone
wait for it to boot up and to get past the lock screen, go to the home screen and say no sim
insert sim card

if that doesn't fix your problem , then start calling apple and your phone carrier
and back up to itunes and erase and restore

and start asking questions

Service provider have said that they had some phone masts upgrades. They have offered me credit, however, I'm doubting that's the issue because I've travelled the country and same problem is there, regardless of my location.

Rigormortis, with all due respect, that method was already tried. Unfortunately, the problem is still there. Only place I haven't been to is Apple themselves, but that's because of where they're based.

I'm starting to think it's perhaps a hardware issue?
Cellular antenna? But, why would I still be able to recieve signal but not call out?

a lot of people just turn their phone off and on again, thinking it does the same thing as reseeding,or ejecting and reinserting it with the phone powered on.
it doesn't


i found that out when i was messing around with verizon sim cards in my iPhone 6 plus, a lot of features wouldn't show up unless i reseeded it. verizon will even tell you , you are supposed to reseed your sim card every 3 months to update the PRL tables, and with LTE dialing *228 is no longer supported. and your supposed to reseed. that is why i suggested it.

Guess what? Nothing...
I definitely think it's a hardware issue now. Perhaps something has fried inside? Weird thing is, I'm so meticulous about my phones, I've never dropped it in my life, and it's never had a hard life of heavy usage.

I've never had to use a warranty. Will Apple just swap it for a new one, there and then? Or will they attempt to fix it before giving me a new one?

Sometimes all the care in the world isn't enough. There just might be bad parts inside that were waiting to crap out on you.

I'm sure after you bring it to Apple, explain to them all the steps you took to fix it, that they might just swap it out for a new one on the spot.

back up to itunes
don't just back up to itunes, tell it to transfer purchases so your not stuck having to redownload 100 app updates and to make sure anything you bought is transferred to itunes

make sure its backing up photos. it is very important that all photos are backed up or synced., including videos


encrypt your back up. this will copy your wifi passwords to a new iPhone. if you do not encrypt it will only restore your wifi passwords to the same device

as i recently found out, no matter what apple says, iCloud keychain does not keep your wifi passwords safe. it pushes wifi passwords to your iPhone but it cannot restore them from iCloud like it can do with safari passwords

appointments at the genius bar are recommended.

tell them the issue. demonstrate the issue. ask to run iOS diagnostics if necessary.

if the phone is under warranty they will switch it on the spot. often no questions asked as long as the issue can be demonstrated to them

if you warranty just expired, they will often look the other way to keep you happy

if the phone is not under warranty, repair fees can be up to $269 depending on what model you have

So today, I went to Apple on the off chance that I'd be able to get an appointment at the Genius Bar. They managed to book me into a slot with only 10 minutes waiting time.

So, they ran diagnostics, checked my warranty from the serial number, then without hesitation, exchanged it there and then!

Excellent customer service
