I'm having a weird problem now that I've installed iPad OS on my iPad Pro.

I used to do this all the time with iOS 12:
  1. Be in a Facetime call with one other person.
  2. Swipe up to go to the home screen. Facetime window is automatically minimized and I can still see the person.
  3. Go into another app. Facetime window remains minimized and I can still see the person.
Here's what's happening in iPad OS:
  1. Be in a Facetime call with one other person.
  2. Swipe up to go to the home screen. Facetime window is automatically minimized and I can still see the person.
  3. Go into another app. Facetime window disappears and I get a little camera icon on the top right of the screen. I cannot see the person.
Things I've tried to fix:
  • When in Facetime I tried bringing the dock up so I could open the other app in slide over but the dock won't remain present. I've also tried holding my left index finger on the Facetime window and bringing up the dock with my right index finger but that didn't help.
  • I thought this might be caused by the attention awareness feature I read about for Facetime but I don't see that in settings under Facetime.
This is probably something simple but I'm not seeing it.
