Hey mates,

I just play around with my new M1 MacBook Pro. I wanted to try e.g. Airbnb iPad App but it wont open. No iOS App I did try opens. If I try from command line, I'll get this error:

open /Applications/Airbnb.app The application cannot be opened for an unexpected reason, error=Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4864 "value for key 'NS.objects' was of unexpected class 'RBSProcessExitContext (0x1ee974e88) [/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/RunningBoardServices.framework]'. Did you install the app from the App Store or did you load the .IPA file from a backup? Does it work when double clicking it in Finder?

I installed from App Store, double click will not work - thats the reason why I tried the command line. If I click the App Icon in Applications, nothing happens... really nothing.

Yes. You can only run iOS & iPadOS apps when you enable SIP.

Edit: This is probably to restrict people from pirating App Store software.
Okay, makes sense. Thank you very much!

How was your iOS app installed? You need to run "xattr -cr xyz.ipa" on the ipa file first before you install the app. Then it should run. Although my success rate is about 50/50 some of the iOS apps still won't run.

After I re-enabled SIP the apps are working. Thanks :)
