Cant open app?

I get the following error everytime open the app:

The app author says that new OS versions sign app differently and thus it wont run on newer OS (something along that lines).

I am running sierra. Is there any way to open this file?

Have you tried right clicking and choosing Open?

Might help if you also mentioned which App it is you're having trouble with.

I tried right click and open and it wont.

It's a patch file.

No idea. Never installed a patch on OSX. Wouldn't the Terminal be a more appropriate method? (Based on several years of Linux usage, patches were usually applied from the command line).
