I found some avi files, personal family videos on my old DVDs. I can open them only in IINA player and nowhere else. I tried Quick Time, iMovie, Premere Pro and Final Cut Pro. It says error and cannot open. These are probably some ancient codecs and modern editors can't even recognize it. I want to edit them as they are each 2 hours long files transferred from VHS. I want cut them by dates and events, but can someone help me how to convert them into different format so any of these editors can read them.

Yeah but I need to convert it so I open it in the editor. I can play it already in IINA.
