Can't Open Mail Since Upgrading to Yosemite

Hello, I have a developer account and downloaded and installed OSX Yosemite.

Since I upgraded to Yosemite I haven't been able to open Mail. I've searched around the Internet for help and I can't seem to find anyone else with this problem or anywhere I can get support for it so I figured I'd try here.

When I try to open this program a window pops up and says:

The last time you opened Mail, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?

If I hit either "Don't Reopen" or "Reopen" I get a huge error that's apparently too big for this post saying "Mail quit unexpectedly" followed by a ton of code and stuff I don't understand.

Has anyone else encountered this or know how I can fix it? I use mail all the time and not being able to open it is making checking my email a lot more awkward.

You are not alone, I have the same problem. When I first installed Yosemite, it warned me that there would be compatibility problems with non iOS 8 devices and prior versions of OS X. My guess is that's the cause since I only installed the DP on 1 computer.

You can get Mail to open up by holding shift before launching, but it won't take long before it crashes again.

The latest update didn't fix it for me... I guess then I'm out of luck until Apple releases an update that fixes it then eh?

I was able to fix mine by deleting the Envelope Index file under /Library/Mail/V2/MailData folder.
