Seriously apple. 🤦‍♂️

Was looking forward to being able to pinning widgets on my desktop. For some stupid reason apple don't allow it, widgets only accessible via notification centre.

Guess we'll have to wait another 5 years for that feature.

If only there was some way you could swipe left to a whole new desktop space populated with widgets. RIP Dashboard.

One of the many reasons I'm sticking with Mojave right now, although am pleased that at least the notification centre widgets are becoming less rubbish.

Really? You can't pin widgets to the desktop? That was the most exciting aspect of Big Sur that I saw.

Are you certain this just isn't a beta issue?

They didn't mention it at WWDC, hopefully it wasn't ready in time for WWDC and gets released later on.

Knowing apple though, they might hold off adding that feature for another 5 years. 😂

You are so right. I just went back and looked at the event video and these are exclusively for notification center not the desktop. That sucks!

I was about to ask the Xcode devs this question... Back in the Tiger/Leopard/Snow Leopard days, if you put the widget platform in dev mode, you could drag-drop a widget from the widget screen to the desktop. I kinda/sorta assumed there would be something similar now... but I guess not?

Yeah I wish Apple let us place widgets on the desktop like on iPads. It would be pretty easy for them to activate this. Maybe someone will come up with a hack or terminal command to accomplish it?
