can't play xvid files. Can anyone please help me figure out how to playback xvid encoded video files? i'm a complete mac newb. i have mplayer but can't figure out how to get the right codecs for it. everything i find seems to be a windows solution. anyhelp would be great.

what mac do you have???

What has that got to do with the price of eggs? At any rate, you can find an XviD QuickTime codec here. A lot of people swear by the 3ivx QuickTime codec. Install it. You should also install the latest beta of the DivX Fusion QuickTime codec. In case you were wondering, installing multiple codecs for the same format does not cause a problem.
the only reason i mentioned the iBook was because he asked. anyway, i seemed to have fixed this problem by re downloading the source. thanks for your replies. daily show downloads of {site reference removed} are working sweet now.
