I followed instructions on the Apple support page and created a USB installer for Catalina in Terminal. I booted to recovery mode and disabled all T2 chip features that look out booting from an external drive. I have a Samsung USB 3 flash drive connected to a HooToo USB C to USB Hub Amazon link to hub in use. When I go to startup disk in system preferences I do not see the flash drive as an option. If I boot by holding the option key it does not show up there either. I even tried the cmd-shift-option-period to get it to show up at startup with no luck. disk displays fine under disk utility. I formatted it as MACOS Extended Journaled and GUID partition map. Am I missing something? I don't recall ever having this problem in the past.
