Cant remove deleted app icon from menu bar

I once tried using Paragon Boot Camp Backup to try and backup a windows partition on a late 2013 27in iMac.

it never worked and I uninstalled it. However the icon for the app is still there in the menu bar!

How can I remove it, and make sure the program is complete gone? I tried holding command and dragging it off the bar, but it won't poof away.

I am able to open a registration window from the dropdown. Clicking Open Application does nothing.

Can you remove the menubar icon by holding your command key, then try dragging the icon off the menubar (while holding the command key)?
If that doesn't work, then I expect that you need to remove some other components of your Paragon software, as you likely did not uninstall the package. (It comes with an uninstaller, so it's likely that just dragging the app to the trash just was not enough.)
The installer for the app should also provide an option to Uninstall, so you could try the installer again. Download the installer if you have already trashed the one that you originally used.

Holding down the command key doesn't work.

There is nothing else of paragon to uninstall that I know of.

I don't have the original installation file.

I tried getting a new one from their website, but it isn't the same software, and doesn't work to uninstall it. It seems to have been replaced by a new program. I can't find a download of the old one.

Anyway to go deep into the system to find the remnants of the app?

I'm assuming that you done a simple search for Paragon on your storage drive already...and found nothing?

First, launch Activity Monitor from your Utilities folder. Find the app in the list of running processes on the left of the window, select it and hit the Force Quit Process button (the one with the X). There may be more than one. That should get rid of the menubar app for now.

Since this doesn't delete anything, you still need to find the part of the app that's running. It's most likely in the main Library folder at the root level of your hard drive in one of the following folders:
• Application Support
• LaunchAgents
• LaunchDaemons
• StartupItems

If not in one of those, try looking in the same folders inside your ~/Library folder (your user account folder/Library).

I was able to find it in the list after going through it and stop it.

I also found it in the first three folders and deleted the items.

It is gone from the menu bar.

u can hold command button and drag with touchpad to trash if it does not work mean try 2nd method bcz I also had same problem
step-1
Click command and spacebar (spotlight search)
in that search "activity monitor " then it will open activity monitor page
then right side search option search whichever residual app there then click it and click on force quit then that app will go permanently(application should be delete before doing all above by go Finder>application>application name which u going to delete)
then restart the system

I need help as well. I am new to MacBook and the command drag option did not work on getting the MacFly icon off of my toolbar at the top. I do not know how to get into the systems processes to remove any leftover files.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This worked for me as well. Low and behold, a help process was still running in Activity Monitor, even though I had gotten rid of everything else.
