I have a Pro tower, running 10.6.6, and today the Photoshop software suddenly wouldnt start up. I got an error that the disk couldn't be found. So I tried to run disk utilities to repair permissions, and of course you need to restart to do that properly. BUT no matter what I did, the systems software never picked up the CDs software, it kept booting from the Home hard drive. What do I d now?

Hello, I am trying to clarify the problem. Are you trying to boot off the OS x installation disK? I don't understand why, if you are just trying to reinstall Photoshop. For a photoshop reinstall, you would just use those disks after boot-up.

Anyway, you have tried holding down the c key during boot in order to get it to boot from the DVD? If the disk is older, you might try cleaning it with soap and a soft, lintless paper, making sure it is dry before trying again. I've had problems where the drive wouldn't read the disk causing the computer to skip it during boot.
