Hi. A friend referred me to this website after I asked him for help with my iPod Touch. I jailbroke it about two months ago and it started to crash a few weeks ago. I decided to restore it to correct the problem, but then things went bad. It got halfway through the restore and then an error occurred. It came up with the number "14" if that helps at all. I have tried it 5 times and the same thing happens every time. It stays on the screen with the "Connect iPod to Itunes" picture. How can I fix it?

Thank you for any help.

There are forums here for iPod Touch and iPod Touch Hacks. You may be better posting there, this is the iPhone forum

How are you trying to restore? DFU or by clicking Restore in iTunes?

Why would that be better? Hardly anyone checks the iPod Touch forums :p Besides, restoring isn't any different for the iPT than it is the iPhone.

Use the second hand of a clock. With the ipod powered off hold down the home and power button for exactly 10 seconds then release the power button while holding the home button for another 10 seconds and release. No image will appear on the screen when in DFU mode.

It worked somewhat. I got halfway through the restore process and then error 14 showed up again. But it went it DFU I think.
