I just got my phone replaced due to a SIM card issues so as I'm getting the replacement I did a successful iCloud backup at the apple store and then I went home as I’m restoring from iCloud it goes to a min left like almost 99% then I get "cannot restore backup" I even had a few days old backup and it's doing the same things. I only have my contact now not pictures, apps....nothing

I had IOS 10 GM on the old phone and 9.x.x on the replacement they gave me so it asked to update to 10 and I did. I called Apple the tech is telling my backups are corrupted because GM wasn't final and yesterday it was so it's different release....etc

The same happened to me. Even iTunes backup i couldn't recover after update to final release from GM (i made a backup on iTunes on the 13th, then tried a restore). I called Apple support as well, 3 times, and they couldn't solve the case. The last time they said they can't help on beta releases. My luck was that i had a archived backup from September 7 (the last beta release was installed on the phone) and could restore from it. No luck with iTunes or iCloud backups using the GM version.

"i couldn't recover after update to final release from GM"
How did you do that? I thought GM is the same as the final?

Yeah, same build. What I meant was, i couldn't restore from a backup i did while using the GM version, or from any iCloud backups whatsoever. (Every year i install beta versions, then GM version, and when they release it to the general public, i use to restore the phone, just my thing).
