Like many other I tried to upgrade to IOS 9 but got frozen out on the slide to upgrade. Tried Apple's solution but because I have find My iPad active it still doesn't work. i have deleted the device from iCloud .com but it still won't allow me to restore. Get this message everytime Go to iCloud Settings on your iPad and turn off Find My iPad before restoring your iPad.I obviously cant because the screen is frozen.I am at my wits end

Boot phone in dfu after removing from iCloud in PC. If allowed to fully boot up again and had some sort of network connection it will automatically re-add itself.

Thanks for replying but I am not very tech savvy so I have no idea what boot phone in dfu means I'm afraid.

I'm on the phone now so it's not as quick and simple to type it all out, but if you do a quick search for "DFU iOS" or "recovery iOS" you should find instructions that will help you.

My enthusiasm might have been short lived.it didn't work.I am going to try it again but i ma so tired now that I dont know what I am doing. Last time it got to step 5 of 5 waiting for items to sync. This seemed to take forever. How long normally should this take.Sorry for being so stupid and needy

For people still looking at how to turn your Find My iPhone/iPad/iPod feature off for a device you cannot access:
Turn your device off.
Go to www.icloud.com on any computer, anywhere in the world and login with your AppleID and password.
Select the device you want to turn the Find my iProduct feature off and select Remove from Account.
Do what you need to do (it needs to be done prior to a Genius Bar appointment).
Turn the feature back on your device when done.
