Anyone have a clue why I can't see the phone in itunes? The 3g has been reset, reinstalled itunes and restarted and nothing showing.:(

Is iTunes the most current version? If so I'm not sure what to do. But this is similar to my buddy's iPod isn't showing up in iTunes either I was wandering if there is a fix for that as well.

Is your iPhone working? If so, sounds like a cable issue to me. If it's not, then it sounds like you have to enter restore mode.

As you plug it into the dock/cable, hold the sleep/wake and the home button for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo, then release the sleep button. Keep holding the home button until the iTunes connect logo comes up on your phone (should take another 10 seconds or so). Hope this helps.

I did a complete restore yesterday (2hrs). Ive tried different cables, USB ports and reboot.

The computer blips so it does see the phone being plugged in. The prob is in iTunes which has been reinstalled after a good cleanup too.

So your phone is working? And you were able to restore yesterday, but now iTunes doesn't recognize it?

If that's the case, my advice would be to try and restore it again with the new version of iTunes you have.

Keep holding the home button until the iTunes connect logo comes up on your phone...

I tried this and now I see the iTunes logo and the USB plug but my computer cant find the USB driver to establish a link.

Now what??

Is your iTunes open? Once you get that logo, iTunes should recognize it and tell you that the phone is in restore mode. From there you restore, and most people choose to set it up as a new phone once after you complete the restore.

I have a Mac, so I've never received a USB driver error, but I still don't see that being an issue. iTunes should still recognize the phone in restore mode.
