I can not find out how to show an SD card when using Big Sur Finder. Same card showed in a 2012 MacBook Pro. Does anyone know how to fix it so that I can see a SD card in Finder ? Thank your time and for any help/suggestions.

It should show up automatically on the desktop (if plugged into a SD card slot) - I have no issues with SD cards with Big Sur on my MBP plugged directly into the SD slot

Have you tried "Disk Utilities" to see if it is being recognized? If it does not show up in disk utilities you may have to use a USB / SD disk adapter ? maybe reformat?

Perhaps the SD card was formatted in a camera or other device?

Thank you mikzn and Quackers for the fast response. It does show up on the desktop but doesn't show up in the finder sidebar. I did check to make sure "external discs" was checked off, good idea.

Try finding it in disk utility and giving it a name. You can name it anything.

I had this problem on the first release.

Eriang, Thank you for your help, I think I found the problem. I tried a different card and it work as it should and showed in the Finder side bar. The first one is a MS-DOS (FAT16) and the one that works is a MS-DOS (FAT32). Thank you all for your time and help.

This worked for me. Open Disk Utility. Notice your SD card has a blank name. Rename the card. Eject it. Then plug it back in and it'll show up in finder. I got the answer from this dude's video:
