Can't seem to download apps (payment info)

Hi,

All of a sudden I don't seem to be able to download free apps from the App Store (haven't tried a paid one yet).

I click "Get", then double tap the power button to confirm by FaceID, it then tells me I need to verify my payment info. It takes me to the Apple Pay page within "Account", but doesn't give me any options to verify, anything, all I can do is exit out and then try again - the same thing happens?

My card is setup for Apple Pay, and paying contactless works fine, I just can't seem to get the App Store to see it?

Any ideas?

This is happening on both my Xs and iPad Pro 9.7? I may remove and re-add my card?

I’m not even looking to pay for anything. It’s a free app!

I had this happen but it was due to Apple trying to bill me for something that failed a week before. Maybe you have a missed payment of some sort and need to bring your account back up to date. Try to watch a paid movie you bought before and if it brings up the billing info you have a past due payment.
