Whenever I try to send a video via iMessages to other iPhone recipients the blue bar at the top just hangs after a while towards the end and states “not delivered “ with a red explanation. The file size is relatively small approx 24meg and regardless of WiFi or cellular the failed outcome is the same to any iPhone users with iMessage enabled. I’ve already tried resetting network settings to no avail. Any other ideas what might be causing this issue? Was on iOS 18.0.1 on my iPhone 16 but currently on 18.1 beta 6. Prior on my iPhone 14 it didn’t work either. Thanks

EDIT: I just tried doing the same from my Macbook and it also failed to send.

Ensure iMessage is correctly set up. Go to Settings > Messages and make sure iMessage is turned on. Also, check that your phone number or email is selected under Send & Receive.
Thank you so much. I think it’s to do with file size. The video was 25 or GB smaller ones went through fine. I tried it also after following your steps and the only common denominator I could find was file size. It seems like there must be a limit ? I couldn’t even send that same file video using my MacBook or to other iPhone users. I even air dropped that video to a friends iPhone. And got them to send it via iMessage and it failed. Wi-Fi on or off.

It's definitely the size. I'm pretty sure you're limited to 100mb or about 3-4 minutes.

I'm having the same problem but it's on iMac and has to do with Express VPN: when I turn ExpressVPN off it sends. My clip is 5.3 mb. Is Apple being monopolistic?
