Hi, I can't figure out how to "share" my Music library from my iMac to my Mac Mini. I guess it *should* work, but it simply doesn't...
So, here is the setup - maybe some expert on this forum can help me? Would be highly appreciated!

My music files (MP3) are stored on a NAS.

I have configured "Music" on my iMac in the office to *not* physically copy the music from the NAS to the local SSD when I add albums, but instead to just play the music directly from the NAS. Works brilliantly.

Also, syncing from the iMac to my iPhone works lovely (during the sync, music files are automatically read from the NAS and copied onto the iPhone - this works like magic).

Now I was thinking to take the next step and share the music from my iMac (German: "Privatfreigabe" - I guess something like "private share" in English?). I have a Mac Mini in the living room where the good speakers are. Both computers run the latest version of Catalina (10.15.7). Both machines work with the same Apple ID, and both are part of the same network (both have access to the NAS without any trouble).

Now I have activated the "private share" in system preferences - but I cannot see anything on the Mac Mini. Also my Macbook Air doesn't see anything of the share.

My Router is a AVM Fritz!Box 7490. Both computers are connected to the network with LAN cables (WiFi is also activated).

Who can lead me into the right direction please?

Oh my, I'm sorry everybody... this was my fault alltogether. 🙈
I honestly had no idea that you have to activate "private share" on BOTH computers.
Works like a charm now!

Well, turns out the private share is working now - but it is still useless in my scenario, because the "client" Mac mini can't see the physical files. Mac Mini sees what iMac has to offer - but iMac has just links to the NAS, and so - no music, no fun. I have registered to iTunes Match now, let's see if that works out...
