Hello MacFans,

I have a PowerBook G4 with Mac OS X version 10.5.6 and a PS3 with version 2.53!
my connection is wireless!

I've already connected my computer to the PS3 with EyeConnect and MediaLink,
both worked, and I can see my shared files on the PS3!

Photos -> I can see and open my shared photos perfectly.

Video / Movies -> I can open some *.avi files (some not all, don't know why), cannot open any *.mp4 files!!
And when I can open a video file (until now just a few *.avi files) my PS3 gives the -> Error 80710736 <- and the movie stop's for a few seconds!

Music -> I can not open ANY music file, when I try to open a *.mp3 file it says "The data type is not supported".

These are my problems, I've looked up for forums on google to help me with these, and I didn't have found the answers. Help me please!

I had the same problem with eyeconnect,I didn't try anything else, just got mad and stopped. It would work sometimes and then would just stop...My guess is the software is just not good.

the PS3 just really isn't a good media machine. If you try porting anything to it....music/movies your going to have minimal luck at best. PS3 games YES Blu Ray YES, Streaming music/movies Not so much

I've tried with PS3 Media Server, once again it runs well, and my shared files apeared in my PS3.

the photos files are ok. and once again, it can't read any music file and most of movies.

basically I have the same problems before. :(

How good is the connection between your computer and your PS3?

Ideally you'd do it completely by ethernet - 54g wireless just isn't really up to scratch for doing this.

I don't really know how to view the strength of my connection between my PS3 and my Mac, I do use a Belkin N Wireless Router. and on the AirPort connection normaly I have three our four of strength (4 its the maximum).

Is your PS3 wired to the router or is it also running over wireless? If it's wireless, it will only be running at G speeds.

Yes my PS3 is running over wireless! I cant wire it up, because the router is in an inaccessible place :/
