Ok, so i added my NFL teams just fine.
Bucs: (NFL Football) - webcal://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/tam/ical.ics
On the iphone, it shows up great, games all populate.
On the google cal, it shows up great, games all populate.
---
Bulls: (NCAAF football) - webcal://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaaf/teams/sbn/ical.ics
I put it in the iphone as a subscribe calendar, it adds it, however, no games get populated. ugh. why not?
I put it in google cal, and on google, the games show up fine.
---

So the question is... why wont this calendar (or any other ncaaf football calendar) populate the games in the iphone? The calendar gets added successfully, but the games dont populate. (and yes, the cal is turned on ON, and FETCH or MANUAL neither work to get the game data)

Anyone have any great ideas?

I can't get the NCAA cal to even populate in Outlook. Must be a yahoo problem.

EDIT: I got it to show up in Google Calendar, so it is not a Yahoo problem, back to square 1.

Patrick.
Hi...
I was attempting to get my NCAAF data directly from yahoo rivals, directly subscribed to at the source, so that any updates, would be made to my iphone as they happen (and we all know how much college football schedules change).

But when i put my NCAAF on a "caldev" calendar (not exchange) and tried to pull it down to iphone, it did the same thing, it got the calendar, but no data, no games.
I have not tried to use exchange, because i have many calendars.

On Google:
Primary Google: WORK Cal (exchange PUSH)
2nd Google: Personal CAL (caldev Fetch)
3rd Google: Family Shared Cal (Caldev Fetch)
4th Google Cal: KidsSchoolCalendar (Caldev Fetch)

On iPhone:
I have all of those accounts above, coming to iphone.
In addition, i have
1 subscribe calendar: Buccanneers NFL
2 subscribe calendar: Bulls NCAAF
3 subscribe calendar: Tampa Bay Rays MLB

Everything works...except Bulls NCAAF.

I dont want the Bulls data pulled into my Exchange PUSH calendar because that is my WORK calendar. NCAAF & WORK dont mix. :) I think there is something wrong with the ical for NCAAF, something very minor that causes google to allow it to work, but iphone to fail.

Patrick... btw... if you are saying you imported the calendar into your google, and then exchange PUSH to your iphone, that will work.
however, any changes to the NCAAF schedule, and you will not get them.
An import is a 1 time thing.
If ESPN alters the schedule for the team you follow, you will never know.
This is why i wanted the calendar to be subscribed to, not imported.
Make sense?

I didn't import it, I subscribed to it. I figured any change will update the subscription and then push to the phone. Is that right?

About the direct way, I would fire off an e-mail to yahoo and let them know. They may have an answer.

How did you get the nfl calendar to work? When I tried to subscribe for the yahoo calendar, I just see blank entires and nothing else! Do you have to do anything special?

Malolans...

I just pasted that URL directly into my iphone.
Settings, Calendar/Contacts/etc, OTHER, Subscribe, Paste into the top field. DONE.
No username or pw, no SSL.
It should then show up on your iphone calendar in its own subcal.
The URL above is for the Bucs.
You would have to get the url for your own team you follow, but its available on that same yahoo rivals site.

Patrick.

I'm a bit confused then.
You subscribed to it, which means you have atleast 2 calendars in google.
1 is your own.
1 is the NCAAF one.
If you are doing EXCHANGE PUSH via your iphone, it only PUSH's the primary calendar in your google account, it can only do 1, and it can only be the primary. Atleast that is the case for iPhone 3.0.

So I'm thinking you have exchange setup for your google.com to your 1 calendar (primary personal calendar).
For the 2nd calendar, how do you have it setup on your iphone? Caldev?
Cuz you cant have 2 exchange calendars.

???

Yes you can. On your iPhone, go to m.google.com/sync, and you can select multiple calendars to push.

I've currently got three distinct calendars pushing via Google Sync.

hmmm
I think thats fine as long as they are all on the same google account.
I have 2 google accounts going.
ONe is my wife, one is mine.
We both have 5 or so calendars
I subscribe to 2 of hers, she subscribes to none of mine.

I think (correct me if i am wrong) that if you use m.google.com/sync that you will be able to subscribe (exchange push) to any of your 1 google account's calendars, however, only 1 google account.

Correct?

Also, what does your SETTINGS, CALENDAR/CONTACTS, ACCOUNTS look like on your iphone? Does it show just 1 account (Exchange) and no other calendars the way you have it setup?

You might want to have your wife share her calendars so that you can associate them with your own account and then sync normally. I believe that can be done.

Gloss... so what u mean is, have her share her 2 calendars (setting that up on her google account) so that my google account can pull in her cals.
Then use the m.google.com/sync concept to exchange PUSH all of my calendars to my iphone (including the NCAAF which i would subscribe to from the google cal).
Correct?

Yup.

I haven't done it personally, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Gloss... yes it worked splendidly.
I used my google account, to SHARE from my other accounts, so that all of my calendars were showing on my own google account.
I subscribed to MLB, NFL, NCAAF cals i wanted.
Everything showed up on my google cal.
I then did the m.google.com/sync, signed in, and click click click chose all the cals.
It worked perfectly.
Well.... almost perfect.
Colors are all off, and there is little you can do about it except for the manual workarounds found here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Mobile/thread?tid=3d8377b8eb791bfc&hl=en

Tks Gloss... this method is better than what i had cuz now its all push/exchange instead of mostly fetch, which i believe uses more battery.

Glad to hear it worked for you! I personally only use my calendars for basic sorts of things, so the colors being mixed up didn't particularly bug me.

Cheers!

where on yahoo can you get these schedules?

yes im also wondering where can i find this at?

edit: i found out how to add but i dont see on ical on mac or on calendar on iphone

I can't get NFL or NCAA to work. Maybe yahoo's servers are acting up? Also, you don't have to copy the link to add the iCal. It's much easier to just navigate to the rivals schedule page for your team, and just click the iCal link. It'll bring up a notification asking you to subscribe to the calendar, and that's all you have to do.

I had tried to put UK's football schedule on my phone from rivals.com and even thought it said that it had subscribed correctly, none of the events would show up. Well, I just left the subscription there instead of deleting it, hoping it would just show up. Well, after I upgraded my firmware to 3.1 it did show up! I don't know what firmware 3.1 changed, but it fixed it!
