I want to move all the content on our AppleTV back to the main system library attached to our iMac and after turning off streaming, I can't find any way to sync the Mac with the ATV.

The only way that I can find to make the ATV show up in iTunes' device list is to start them go to Settings > Computers > Add A Shared iTunes Library from the ATV menus, but that just put puts us back into streaming mode.

I can't find a way to get the ATV to show up in the iTunes device list and then set up syncing.

HELP!!!!!!!

iTunes will automatically sync back and items you have purchased via the ATV1. The system does not copy all the files, only the ones that you purchased through the ATV1.

Aside from Jailbraking, there is not a way to copy all the files from the ATV to the iTunes computer. It is designed to work the other way around: It copies files to the ATV1 when you sync and ONLY if you buy new content directly through the ATV will it sync those newly purchased items (i.e. ones not in your iTunes library) back.

May I ask what you are trying to accomplish and why you need to copy files from the ATV? Did you have a crash or something on your iTunes computer?

btw: iTunes should allow you an option to manually sync within the AppleTV tab in devices, but this doesn't sound like your goal, as this will overwrite everything on the ATV.
