Cant Sync Exchange Contacts and Calendar to iCloud

I connect to Microsoft Exchange on my iPhone 4 (ios5). I selected to use iCloud to sync Contacts and Calendar but neither show up on the iCloud.com site. Only thing that appears to sync is Reminders from the new Reminders app. Apparently apps are syncing as well. Hope this is a stupid question with an easy answer. Actually, what you're seeing as Reminders syncing is just your Outlook tasks syncing to the Tasks page in the Reminders App. This is a new (less advertised) feature as well, but it's not syncing those tasks to iCloud. iCloud and Exchange run in parallel to one another but aren't merged with one another. If you go into the Reminders App, you'll see 2 sheets -- one labeled "Tasks" which syncs with Exchange (and doesn't have all the cool new features like location-based reminders) and one labeled "Reminders" which syncs with iCloud. This is similar, but not identical, to the way contacts and calendars work as well, although in contacts and calendars, you can see both your iCloud and your Exchange contacts and calendars in the same contact list or calendar simultaneously if you choose to (which you do not appear to be able to do for Exchange Tasks and iCloud Reminders).

I actually like this since it permits me an easy way to keep my personal life on iCloud and my work life on Exchange and have them both served to my phone. Moreover, if they were merged, I would imagine that many employers would almost immediately ban the iPhone (I know mine would).

I agree. I have both as well (Exchange Server and iCloud). Although you can't access a merged version via the web on iCloud, you can access all the information on your Mac. For instance, in iCal, I can, if I want, see my exchange calendar in addition to my local calendar(s) that can be viewed on the cloud. If, heaven forbid, I didn't have my phone and needed to access the exchange data, and wasn't at home, I'd just use the web to access to my Windows outlook calendar/contacts.

There is a unified view for calendars and contacts, just not for email or reminders. Not sure why. I would like that too (so long as it is able to cleanly designate what entries are from which like calendar does with the coloring of the entries).

The "unified view" you're speaking of...do you see it if you go to your cloud via a web browser (icloud.com) and open your calendar? I don't. Either I'm misunderstanding you or I've got to go back to the drawing board...

No. At iCloud.com, the only thing you can see is the iCloud calendar/contacts/reminders/etc. (not Exchange). I'm talking about on the iOS device itself. Sorry for the confusion.

I'd like to try the iCloud control panel for windows, and sync my Outlook data directly that way. Unfortunately, at my office we don't a have a compatible Windows OS. (Maybe a blessing in disguise…but I'd still like to try it.)
