So, suddenly I am unable to sync more than about 50 of the almost 12,000 photos I have to my iPhone 6s.

I have rebooted both the Mac and the iPhone, tried different cables, deleted the iPod Photo Cache, and even ran First Aid in Disk Utility. No fix.

I don't get any up front errors in iTunes. If I delete all synced photos and start over, it sometimes will stop at 52 photos synced and sometimes 54...then it will just sit there for about 30 seconds then say the sync is complete. If I try to sync again after that, it just prepares to copy files for a bit then ends the sync, no error.

Attached is a screenshot of the logs from the moment I opened iTunes and hit Sync until it was done. I'm assuming the line "CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported color space." is the culprit since I know iTunes is trying to convert all images into the iPod Photo Cache folder...but that gives me no real leads. Any Google searches I run lead me to people creating apps, not trying to sync their phones.

I'm hoping someone here has an idea what I can do!

Have you tried deleting your lockdown folder?
I, admittedly, had no idea what the "lockdown folder" was.

I followed the instructions and did that...but once again, no dice. Hung on 51 this time then just completed the sync, no error, same as before.

You said sync but then you also said the photos were on your phone so I'm assuming you weren't syncing your phone with your computer but importing the photos on the phone to the computer?

No, I am trying to sync my photos from my computer to my iPhone.
Okay. When you sync the photos, are you choosing to sync from a folder of photos or from iPhoto/Photos app? Also, when you deleted them to try again, how did you delete the 50+ photos from the iPhone?

From a folder. I'm currently going folder by folder selecting them manually instead of telling iTunes to sync all the folders.

Interestingly, the folders that are failing, some of them I haven't added to or modified any images in them for years.

As for your last question, I turned off Photo sync in iTunes, hit Apply, then checked the Photos app on the iPhone to see they were all gone.

Have you checked to make sure the photos that are failing to sync are in a format that is compatible with the iPhone?

Also, when you say you are going "one by one manually selecting them" you are doing so inside of iTunes in the photos tab correct?

They are the same format they have always been and which synced perfectly fine with my iPhone in the past. I've also checked and all the photos in those directories seem to open just fine on the computer itself.

...and yes, in iTunes when selecting what Photo's you want to sync to the phone.

Sorry, just trying to check the little things it could be. Is everything up to date?

Yup, latest versions on everything.
Well, I'm stumped. The only other thing I can think of is that the photos can't be found by iTunes for some unknown reason. What happens if you move the photos to a new location or add them to iPhoto/Photos and try syncing them there?

Haven't tried that but I will say iTunes can "see" them. It gives the right file count in iTunes when you select a folder...even one that won't sync correctly. Example:

Finder will say 86 files.
iTunes will say 86 files.
After a sync that isn't working right...
iPhone will say 12 files but iTunes still says 86 files and will still try to sync on the next connection to the iPhone...but it will fail again.

I wonder if it would also fail if you were to create an encrypted backup, DFU restore the device, set up as a new phone and sync again.

Well, I know it took me awhile to get around to trying this...but I tried two more things.

1. I used iTunes to reset the iPhone and restore from a backup. I was still unable to sync photos.
2. I used iTunes to reset the iPhone and setup as new phone. Still unable to sync photos.

*sigh*
[doublepost=1463356230][/doublepost]...interestingly. I just reinstalled iTunes and tried to sync again. It got into the 40's and now, while it hasn't aborted the sync, it's taking about 3 minutes for each count it goes up. Not sure what that means.

Welp, downloaded 9.3.2, upgraded iTunes and reset the iPhone and setup as new with 9.3.2 and it's syncing photos now without issue. Either 9.3.2 or the new iTunes fixed it.
