I've got the latest version of DVD Player and I can't turn-off the captions when I play a movie. I've tried changing the settings/prefs, but I can't get them to disappear.

Any ideas?

there is a com.apple.DVDPlayer.plist file in your /Username/Library/Perferences directory. Delete it and restart the DVD player, see if that gets rid of the bug.

subtitles

are you sure that they're not burned into the actual movie? some subtitles are part of the film print used in the dvd transfer, in which they can't be turned off.

I would say this is more likely, try and play it in a differnt DVD player if you can. See if the subtitles still come up.

Life is Beatiful has subtitles built into the movie as the movie is all in a different language.
