Can't turn on tv unless mac mini's turned on???

I'm running my Mac mini to this http://www.monoprice.com/produ...ption adapter, to my LCD TV.

Unless the Mac Mini is turned on or I have unplugged the HDMI cable the Mini I can't turn my TV on... Does anyone know a fix for this?

Is the TV in some kind of power-save mode? If it doesn't detect a valid source, then it won't turn on. Check your TV for the settings for a power save feature.
