can't update my 5C

can ios 9 not be installed on a 5C running ios8? i'm being told there's an update (ios9), yet when i try to do it, "download and install" is low-lit and not an option. it gives no explanation either. i have 7gb of memory available too. i don't get it.

You could also try restarting or closing Settings in the app switcher.

OP here. i figured it out. turns out i wasn't connected to my home wifi router as i recently got a new router. for some reason you have to be connected via wifi.

It's to protect people who have limited data from downloading a file that could be a huge portion of their plan if they don't notice that they're on data.
