With the last two iPhone updates (1.1.3 and 1.1.4), the update process has frozen on "preparing iPhone for software update." I wait a few hours and it's still stuck at this. Then, I have to unplug it, restore it, and re-sync all of my files over. It's a pain!

Why does this always happen on my iPhone and a few others, but not everyones? Is it fixable or is it just something that I have to deal with?

I have an 8GB iPhone (week 39) and I'm running Leopard (10.5.2) with all the latest updates.

I have the same issue!!!!

Apparently nobody else does as I see I'm the only one to reply. I'd really like to get to the bottom of this - It's getting really old. I'm always nervous that it won't work properly with these issues and the fact that it doesn't work normally could mean there is an underlying cause or problem that could be worse later on.....

Anyway - I wish we could get some help on this.

Thanks,
Johnny

Can't update

I had the same problem. I finally called tech support and they had me remove the iTunes program and download it again and it worked. I guess there was a currupt file in iTunes. I can finally update my iPhone with no problems.
