I have an imac 2017 21.5in running High Sierra, and can't install Ventura, I receive a message saying installation is damaged and can't be installed.

Install it from full installer on App Store, or from recover mode via network. Also backup your SSD. so might have to check what format. your internal bootable SSD is.

You may first have to update to Mojave 10.14 or Crapalina 10.15 for firmware and APFS updates before attempting Ventura install.

You nailed it! No other information resource - including Apple Support - suggested this, but it did the trick. Thank you for your help!

Very weird. I did a direct upgrade from High Sierra to macOS Ventura about 18 months ago without any issues. I was surprised it even worked and without any performance issues or quirks...

(27-inch, 2017)
