Can't upgrade to Catalina: The request timed out

I'm trying to upgrade from Mojave to Catalina, but I keep getting this error

It's apparently trying to connect to 192.168.1.64 and I have no idea why. There's nothing on my network with that address and I don't remember making any config change for this. How do I make it stop doing this?

So I put the computer on a different network and the upgrade worked right away. Now I’m really curious why it was acting that way on a 192.168.x.x network but not a 172.16.x.x. I can’t imagine something would have been automatically advertising itself as some kind of local caching server.

It's basically saying to you Catalina is not ready for public release. More issues to come after you actually install it.
