Hi All, I figured I would run the Apple hardware Test on my 2012 12core 3.06 gig Mac Pro running 10.10.4, and it simply won't go into that mode. When I hold down the "D" key it pauses for a long while on a white screen, but eventually goes to my desktop. Tried "Option D" as well, same thing. Any ideas?

Its because your OSX 10.10.4 is not upgraded from the stock OSX (10.7 or 10.8?).

If you did a clean install, the AHT will not avail anymore, unless you have the original installation disc or you manually put the AHT system flie back into the place (https://github.com/upekkha/AppleHardwareTest).

Thanks. This worked perfect! Just had to unhide files so I could move the diagnostic folder into Coreservices. Thanks. I'll hang onto this.

Okay, I can't seem to get the terminal command down pat. How do I copy the expanded file from my download directory to the target.

Having a brain *art today...

To show hidden files.

Code:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
killall Finder

Yeah, no problem showing the files, it's just that the System Folder permissions don't allow copying anything so I can't do it with finder.

It has to be in the terminal as in;

sudo cp ~/source file /target file

I just can't make it happen today. I need a senior nap I think... :)
